Generally speaking, Madrid’s climate is dry, with very little rainfall. It’s known for the big blue sky that Velazquez loved to paint, and lots of sunny days. In spring, Madrid’s parks, gardens, and green spaces are bursting with flowers. Expect a few rainy days in April, with mild temperatures, and then for it to heat up fully by May.
Temperatures reach an average of 25ºC in July and August. But don’t be put off, there are many swimming pools in the city center where you can cool off with a refreshing dip. During these months many locals and tourists retreat to the various rooftop gardens and terraces that provide the idyllic seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the busy city.
In September, the temperatures drop significantly and by October, temperatures are mild. They can be a lovely time to explore the parks and pretty autumn colors during your elopement trip.
November tends to be cold and rainy and the last two months of the year are generally the wettest but still a lovely time to walk the streets and drop into restaurants and chocolate shops. Winters are cold and dry, yet snow does fall occasionally in late December and in January. January is the coldest month when average temperatures can be as low as 6ºC. Cloudless skies are still very common in winter, so you may want to take advantage of the warm and pleasant midday sun for your elopement ceremony.

We will send you the schedule of your day around two weeks before your mico wedding or elopement in Madrid.
Every couple's elopement timeline is different, depending on the location, season, and time of the day but generally speaking, the ceremony is usually around 20 minutes long and we will have to factor in the duration of the photoshoot. The whole experience usually lasts a total of 4-5 hours but we recommend keeping the whole day available in case plans unexpectedly change.
The best outdoor lighting happens in the two hours around sunrise and sunset, so we usually recommend that the elopement ceremony is held close to then.

As a capital city, Madrid is very well connected nationally and internationally, by train, air, and motorways. The airport is just 8km from the city center, meaning grabbing a taxi to the city is not too expensive.
Madrid is a great city to get around by foot, but they also have fantastic public transport - whenever you get tired of walking, you’ll find buses and the Metro easy to navigate.
