Frequently Asked Questions

  • Germany makes for an enchanting country to elope in, with its charming old-world villages and impressive cities sitting alongside natural beauty. In Germany, couples truly have an abundance of idyllic locations to choose from, from lush forests and vineyards in places like the Rhine Valley to castle-dotted landscapes in Bavaria. Just imagine saying “I do” with the Neuschwanstein Castle (the inspiration for the Disney Cinderella castle) painting the background.

Iconic cities like Berlin, Munich, and Cologne offer striking urban backdrops filled with impressive architecture, history, and culture. No matter the setting, our planners, together with our local dream team, will expertly guide you to secret spots perfect for intimate photos and recommend activities that will be the cherry on top of your elopement day.

  • The weather in Germany can change quite a bit throughout the year, so it’s important to consider this aspect when booking your equipment. In spring (April-May), you can expect fresh spring weather with blooming trees filling forests and fields with color. Average high temperatures range from 12-18°C or 53-65°F.

Summer (June-August) offers the longest days with around 16 hours of sunlight. However, it can get warmer and more humid, with highs of 20-25°C or 68-77°F. This is definitely the optimal time for an outdoor wedding. Shoulder seasons in late summer/early fall (September-October) provide a mix of sunshine and occasional rain showers, balanced out by spectacular colorful foliage (especially in a place like the Black Forest). Expect highs of 15-20°C or 60-70°F.

Working with our local dream teams, couples can choose the dates and destinations in Germany that are in line with the vision for their wedding. So, no matter the season of your choice, with the help of our dream team, we’re positive we’ll be able to create the right wedding day itinerary for you.

  • Although every couple's elopement timeline is different (depending on the location, season, and time of the day), generally speaking, the wedding ceremony is usually around 20 minutes long and you can expect photography before, mid, and after the ceremony. The whole experience usually lasts a minimum of four hours but we recommend keeping the whole day available in case plans unexpectedly change (due to unpredictable weather conditions etc.).

The best outdoor lighting tends to be around sunrise and sunset, so we usually recommend that the elopement ceremony is held close to that time.

  • If you’re looking at visiting more than one destination in Germany renting out a car, will give you the flexibility to drive between different destinations with ease.

The German railway system allows you to travel between major cities by high-speed ICE train for panoramic views out the window. In large cities, the efficient underground metro and tram networks mean you don't need a vehicle to get around. Taxis can be hailed through apps if you only need short transport links.

Bicycles are a classic way to pedal down scenic cycle routes, many hotels have them available for guests. Walking is a lovely choice for exploring small historic town centers packed with centuries-old architecture.

For the elopement day itself, we can also arrange a vintage car rental to drive in and from your wedding in style.

  • In Gemany, we offer both, elopement packages and our premium service. Besides having everything that’s included in the elopement package, our premium service involves a completely customizable elopement with a 2-day photoshoot, premium venue rental, art direction, and more!
