Frequently Asked Questions

  • Scotland is a breathtaking country known for its dramatic scenery, rich history, and warm hospitality. Towering mountains, verdant glens, and coastlines enriched with remote islands create naturally beautiful panoramas. Culture thrives in lively cities like Glasgow and stylish Edinburgh, home to world-class museums, medieval buildings, and buzzing nightlife scenes. Scotland's proud traditions also shine through in folk music, locally sourced cuisine, and nationally beloved pastimes like golf and whisky tasting.

Wandering cobbled lanes in historic quarters transports you back centuries, and hiking beyond city limits through dramatic scenery populated by wildlife is like no other place in the world. Scottish people are eager to share their homeland's charms and will be more than happy to welcome a newlywed couple. Both grand cities and remote natural settings leave long-lasting impressions, captivating our lovely couples.

  • Scotland's weather generally lives up to its reputation for unpredictability. Due to the Gulf Stream and maritime climate, temperatures are milder than one might expect at these northern latitudes, though precipitation is common year-round.

Summers from June to August see average highs of around 20°C/68°F with some warmer spells, but rain showers also occur frequently. Spring and fall bring mixed conditions with sunny periods and occasional downpours. Winters are cool and wet, with highs barely reaching 8°C/46°F and lows around freezing. Remote areas experience more extreme weather like winter snow and winds, while western coasts are among the rainiest places in Europe. No matter the conditions, eloping in Scotland's scenery is a memorable experience for all couples with a spirit of adventure.

  • Every couple's elopement timeline is different, depending on the location, season and time of the day but generally speaking, the ceremony is usually around 20 minute long and we will have to factor in the duration of the photoshoot. The whole experience usually lasts a total of 4 hours but we recommend keeping the whole day available in case plans unexpectedly change.

The best outdoor lighting happens in the two hours around sunrise and sunset, so we usually recommend that the elopement ceremony is held close to then.

  • The best way to get to Scotland is to fly into either Edinburgh or Glasgow. But are fantastic cities that you’ll enjoy visiting, but relatively small so you can simply walk around, or grab a taxi or the bus to get around.

Then, once you’re ready to explore the Highlands and other beautiful parts of this country, we would recommend renting a car. This will allow you to explore independently the scenic routes weaving through Highlands Glens and along rugged coastlines that are difficult to access by other means.

For those who would prefer not to drive, catching an early morning coach to the Isle of Skye or taking the train along the picturesque West Highland line is an option too. The public transportation in Scotland connects all major towns.

Ferry services transport travelers along with their wheels to experience the unique cultures of the Orkney and Outer Hebrides without the need for a boat license.

Finally, another great way to explore this stunning part of the world is to rent bikes and take the country roads that wind beside lochs and through glens. Cycling is perfect for those who want scenic low-impact exploration at a relaxed self-determined pace.

  • In Scotland, we offer both, elopement packages and our premium service. Besides having everything that’s included in the elopement package, our premium service involves a completely customizable elopement with a 2-day photoshoot, premium venue rental, art direction, and more!
