Frequently Asked Questions

  • Sitges is well known for its open-minded and inclusive community, making it a great destination for LGBT couples. The town's friendly locals and lively gay nightlife ensure you’ll feel celebrated and welcomed.

There are fabulous venues to choose from in Sitges such as the iconic Church of Sant Bartomeu & Santa Tecla, which offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea. For a more private setting, the lush gardens of Palau Maricel provide a romantic backdrop. There's also a wide range of LGBT-friendly accommodations. Options like Hotel Medium Sitges Park and Parrots Sitges Hotel are known for their welcoming atmosphere in prime locations.

After you've found your ideal elopement accommodation, it's time to explore Sitges' stunning beaches. Playa de la Bassa Rodona in central Sitges is particularly popular within the LGBT community, offering a lively and social atmosphere. Other great visits are Playa del Muerto and Platja de l'home Mort which are known as the world's first gay beaches in Spain, tracing back all the way to the 1930s. Visiting these beaches involves a bit of a hike but the views of the Mediterranean on the way are spectacular, making the hike very pleasant (but do bring a hat in the summer).

Indulge in Local Cuisine by dining at one of the many seaside restaurants. Fresh seafood, tapas, and the traditional dish "xató" are must-tries. If you enjoy a good time, attend and show off your dance moves at one of Sitges’ renowned festivals, like the Sitges Carnival in the spring or the Sitges International Film Festival in the fall, which add an extra layer of excitement and cultural richness to your celebration.

Lastly, document your stay in Sitges by hiring a photographer who specializes in LGBT elopements to capture your special moments. They can recommend the best spots and times for photos that highlight Sitges’ unique charm.

  • Sitge's climate is Mediterranean, with long hot, and dry summers and seasonal rains. Late June to August can get very busy, so we recommend booking your elopement package during Spring, April to early June, or autumn, September to early October. During these months it is still warm enough to swim, hike, cycle and enjoy the coastal paths in comfort and relative seclusion.

  • We will send you the schedule of your day around two weeks before your elopement wedding in Sitges.

Every couple's elopement timeline is different, depending on the location, season, and time of the day but generally speaking, the ceremony is usually around 20 minute long and we will have to factor in the duration of the photoshoot.

The whole experience usually lasts a minimum of 4 hours but we recommend keeping the whole day available in case plans unexpectedly change. The best outdoor lighting happens in the two hours around sunrise and sunset, so we usually recommend that the elopement ceremony is held close to then.

  • The easiest way to reach Sitges is to fly into Barcelona, which features a big international airport with many connections to other important destinations.

Then, taking the train would be the easiest and the fastest way to get to Sitges and other towns nearby. If, however, you'd like to do a lot of traveling and explore the gems of Catalonia further, then we would definitely recommend renting a car which will make your trip a bit more fast and dynamic.
