ELOPE IN AMALFI COAST

The Amalfi Coast sits along the southern coastline of Italy's Sorrentine Peninsula, offering breathtaking coastal scenery and charming towns. Dotting the coast are colorful villages that seem to grow out of the vertical cliffs dropping sharply into the azure Tyrrhenian Sea. Small fishing boats bob in postcard-perfect harbors among terraced lemon groves and vineyards. The steep, winding roads hug the landscape, passing breathtaking views at every turn. It's easy to see why the Amalfi Coast has long been a favorite tourist destination.

What makes the Amalfi Coast such a wonderful place to visit and elope in Italy is the lovely combination of natural beauty, history, and Italian charm. Being immersed in the gorgeous Mediterranean scenery is restorative for both body and soul. Quaint towns full of narrow alleys arched passageways, and historic piazzas transport visitors back in time. Cultural attractions like cathedrals, villas, and archaeological sites dating back to Roman times tell the story of how man has settled into these steep coastal foothills.

Fresh seafood straight from local fishing boats and limoncello made from the signature local lemons offer a taste of the Italian lifestyle along this picturesque coast. A visit to the Amalfi Coast is sure to create wedding memories that will last a lifetime.

As this is by far one of the most popular elopement destinations in Italy, we would recommend staying away from peak summer months to ensure your elopement is still marked by privacy and intimacy.

The weather along the Amalfi Coast is ideal for travelers most of the year. Warm, sunny days are the norm from spring through early fall. Summer is hot and dry, with average high temperatures of around 80°F/27°C from June to August. Thanks to the moderating influence of the Mediterranean Sea, summer heat is offset by cool sea breezes that blow inland.

Winter brings more precipitation, with rainfall fairly consistent and occasional storms. However, winter highs still hover in the mild 50s°F/13°C range. Spring and fall offer pleasant weather that’s not too hot nor too cold, with warm sunshine for exploring the coast’s villages and attractions. The dry Mediterranean climate means rain is often short-lived, meaning it’s an ideal destination to elope in Italy, even in the colder months.

Every couple's elopement timeline is different, depending on the location, season and time of the day but generally speaking, the ceremony is usually around 20 minutes long and we will have to factor in the duration of the photoshoot. The whole experience usually lasts a total of 4 hours but we recommend keeping the whole day available in case plans unexpectedly change. 

The best outdoor lighting happens in the two hours around sunrise and sunset, so we usually recommend that the elopement ceremony is held close to then.

The easiest way to get to the Amalfi Coast is to rent a car. This will allow you to easily explore the surrounding villages and stunning views of the impressive coastline.
