Imagine tall mountains covered in ancient vineyards and scattered stone walls, descending all the way to a turquoise-azure sea. At the bottom, you will find secluded coves and quaint villages clustered around harbors.
Cinque Terre means 'Five Lands'. A group of five picturesque seaside villages perched high atop the rocky Mediterranean coastline Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore, the towering hills behind them, and the breathtaking Ligurian coastline itself are all included in this special national park.
Within this, there is an abundance of unique locations for your special elopement day in Cinque Terre.
While the Cinque Terre is a fantastic elopement destination, the villages get very full in the summertime. Hence, if you’d like to enjoy more intimacy, we would recommend booking your wedding between October and May. These two months, in particular, can be quite nice, as you can still enjoy good sunny weather while avoiding the crowds.
We will send you the schedule of your elopement in Cinque Terre around two weeks before the big day.
Every couple's elopement timeline is different, depending on the location, season, and time of the day but generally speaking, the ceremony is usually around 20 minutes long and we will have to factor in the duration of the photoshoot. The whole experience usually lasts a minimum of 4 hours, but we recommend keeping the whole day available in case plans unexpectedly change.
The best outdoor lighting happens in the two hours around sunrise and sunset, so we usually recommend that the elopement ceremony is held close to then.
Cinque Terre is located just south of Genoa in northern Italy. It is within easy reach of Genoa, Pisa, Rome, Florence, and Nice airports.
If you choose Cinque Terre as your elopement destination, we recommend taking the train that runs between La Spezia and Levanto and stops in each of the 5 villages. If you’d like to also explore the surrounding area, hiring a car will make it easy to visit the national park and other surrounding regions.
