Ibiza is a popular destination for many things – family holidays, world class parties, yoga retreats and destination weddings, but you might not realise just how many couples choose to renew their vows on the beautiful white isle. 

It’s a diverse island of beaches, farmland, rocky cliff edges, caves, sparkling blue seas and high look out points, meaning that wherever you are on the island, you’re never far from a beautiful backdrop to hold at intimate ceremony in front of. 

Many couples choose to renew their vows whilst on their family holiday, so that they can recommit to each other in front of their children and extended family in a location that they love to visit together. 

Others come over specifically to have the intimate ceremony they’ve always wanted, or to celebrate an anniversary and commemorate the occasion. 

In 2019, we organised a beautiful ceremony planned by a wife as a surprise for her husband. 

Emer organised the details of the ceremony with the photographer Masha Kart and the Celebrant Carly Marie, who arranged the perfect spot for the ceremony and a romantic walk and photoshoot afterwards. 

Emer revealed the plans to her husband Darren just before making their way to the scenic west coast of Ibiza, and when they arrived Carly and Masha were there, ready to create and capture an emotional ceremony. 

With the iconic rock of Es Vedra close behind them on the horizon and the late afternoon sun beating down on them, it couldn’t be more of a romantic Ibizan scene. 

Carly wrote a personal and touching ceremony that explained why it was so important for Emer to show Darren how much she cared about him. The two of them exchanged and reconfirmed their wedding vows to each other, and after wiping their tears away, kissed and celebrated and headed off for a walk.

They climbed the steps down the cliff edge to the sea, before strolling through the pine trees just as the sun was beginning to set.
