5 Tips to Plan Your Cherry Blossom Wedding Elopement in Paris

Although Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world, no matter what time you visit, the cherry blossom season in Paris is something else. Here’s everything you need to know if your dream is to elope with blooming flowers painting the background of your wedding photos.

What time of year should I visit Paris to see the cherry blossoms?

The best time of year to find cherry blossoms in Paris is usually between mid-March and mid-April when the cherry trees flower for 1-2 weeks. The date changes slightly from year to year depending on the temperature and duration of the winter season and spring’s arrival with its milder weather.

But planning a visit in early April gives you a high chance of being surrounded by the gorgeous cherry blossoms for your elopement ceremony.

Where is the best location for an intimate ceremony in the blossoms?

There are lots of details to consider when choosing a location for your ceremony so that you have somewhere with a beautiful backdrop and privacy, as well as the blossoms around you.

The best locations, according to our Paris Celebrant Laura Montorio, are:

  1. The Eiffel Tower - There are parks surrounding Paris’s most iconic landmark with lots of beautiful Cherry tree’s and with the view of the tower as the backdrop.

  2. Romantic Cherry Blossom Park - complete with a small pavilion, perfect for holding an intimate ceremony inside.

  3. And some of her favorite hidden gems include Jardin des Plantes, Parc de Seaux, and Parc Monceau.

What is the best time of day to hold a ceremony among the blossoms?

In Paris, it is recommended to hold your ceremony as early in the morning as possible in order to avoid crowds and have a space that is as intimate and private as possible.

In its cherry blossom season, the parks are even more popular due to extra tourists who have traveled to see the landmarks in full bloom and get the best photography, so between sunrise and early morning are definitely the best time of day.

What is the weather like at this time of year?

Have you heard the expression “April weather, rain, and sunshine, both together?”, It sums it up quite accurately!

Although spring is, of course, when the weather is getting milder, the early mornings can still be fairly cool in temperature. It’s also recommended to bring an umbrella, just in case (a clear or stylish one works best if you need it during the ceremony or photos!).

Sudden but usually short rain showers are a part of the Parisian springtime, but isn’t standing in the rain with your lover such a typically romantic movie scene?! Especially when you add the Eiffel Tower into the background!

What if we miss cherry blossoms?

Of course, no matter how much research and planning you do, it’s impossible to know if you will be on time to catch the cherry blossoms in full bloom, but, don’t worry!

Springtime in Paris is beautiful, and if you do arrive before the trees bloom or if they’ve already dropped their petals, other flowers and trees will be in bloom, and your suppliers will be able to guide you to the most impressive spots to enjoy them.

Paris, however, is romantic and unique no matter what time of year you decide to visit. Feel inspired? Take a look at our Elopement Packages in Paris, France to learn more.
