“I never fully understood or appreciated the term "love at first sight" until I met Lakin.” said Axel with conviction. After only meeting once, he was determined to take our Lakin on a date to get pizza. Luckily she really liked pizza, and the rest was history! The couple quickly fell in love with each other and have been blessed to share and create countless memories. They’ve supported each other through the passing of loved ones, the hardships of the pandemic, and career changes. They also got a dog, moved together into their own home, celebrated the marriages of their siblings, and traveled to amazing places like Alaska, Antigua, and Hawaii.

When the couple first started exploring their elopement options, they came across Somewhere Crazy elopements and fell in love with the picture of the Dolomites. Having both grown up in Colorado, they have been fortunate enough to have the Rocky Mountains in their backyard, ultimately sparking a passion for hiking. Together they’ve hiked many trails and seen many views, but they have never seen a mountain range as stunning as the Dolomites! To have the opportunity to celebrate their love in the most beautiful Italian mountain range was a dream come true for them.

Inspired by breathtaking photos of the Dolomites, they contacted Somewhere Crazy and after speaking to Valentina, they selected the Standard Elopement Package in the Dolomites, enhancing it with a Videographer and a Hair & Makeup Artist. On the morning of the elopement, the Hair & Makeup Artist arrived at their accommodation to create a stunning, natural look for the bride. At noon, the couple shared an emotional first look that moved everyone to tears.

Accompanied by their Dream Team, they traveled to Seceda, took a cable car to a scenic viewpoint, and hiked to a fairytale-like location. Here, Lakin and Axel exchanged vows atop the mountain range, capturing unforgettable photos. Post-photoshoot, they sat in their vintage car and drove off into the sunset.
