About your elopement in Formentera

The elopement location

There are many stunning locations on the island of Formentera. We will recommend the one that best suits the needs and preferences of your elopement day - based on the season, weather conditions and time of day.

Note: If you’re getting married on public land, there won't be permits to apply and pay for. However, if you are choose a private location, there will be a rental fee to be paid, as it's not included in our packages.

Season and climate

The good season in Formentera starts in May and lasts through early October with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures.

However, we recommend planning your elopement in Formentera in late spring or early fall if you prefer to avoid the big crowds and the hottest temperatures of July and August.

Schedule of the day

We will send you the schedule of your day around two weeks before your elopement or intimate wedding in Formentera.

Every couple's elopement timeline is different, depending on the location, season, and time of the day but generally speaking, the ceremony is usually around 20 minutes long and we will have to factor in the duration of the photoshoot. The whole experience usually lasts a minimum of 3 or 4 hours but we recommend keeping the whole day available in case plans unexpectedly change.

When planning your elopement, one of the most important things to consider is the time of the sunset. The harsh midday sun is too bright to take flattering pictures, so you will want to aim for sunlight obscured by clouds - or best - evening sun and sunsets. In spring, sunsets in Ireland are a little earlier and there are fewer tourists, which brings more flexibility to your day.

How to get there and around

If you choose Formentera as a destination for your wedding elopement, you will be able to reach the island with international flights from all over Europe or from Spanish mainland cities.

We can organise a transfer for your elopement day unless you hire a car once you arrive on the island of Formentera
